The newest golf course in Memphis is Miramichi Lakes, which is actually a re-design of the former Big Creek Golf Course.  Miramichi Lakes re-opened on July 25, 2009 after under-going a $16 million dollar eco-friendly reconstruction spear headed by the primary investor on the project, Memphis’ favorite son behind Elvis, Justin Timberlake.

Another notable golf destination in Memphis is the Tournament Players Club at Southwind, home of the annual PGA event, The St. Jude Classic.  Though Memphis sometimes takes a back seat on the world stage to other cities in Tennessee, like Nashville or Knoxville, it should be pointed out that The St Jude Classic is the ONLY PGA event held in the state of Tennessee.
